# Delete your account

> How to delete your Matilha account, in the app or by email, and what happens to your data.

You can delete your Matilha account at any time, in the app or by email.

## In the app (instant)

1. Open Matilha and tap your profile.
2. Tap the gear icon (**Settings**).
3. Tap **Delete account** and confirm twice.

Deletion is immediate. If you signed in with Apple, Matilha’s access to your Apple account is revoked as well.

## Without the app (by email)

Write to [privacidade@matilhaapp.com.br](mailto:privacidade@matilhaapp.com.br?subject=Delete%20my%20account) with the subject **Delete my account**, **from the email address on your account** (that is how we confirm it’s you). If you signed in with Apple using “Hide My Email”, write from your personal address and tell us your @ in the app. We reply and complete the deletion within 15 days.

## What is deleted

Your account, profile, photos, likes, comments, ratings, lists, ride attendance and group memberships.

## What stays

- Routes, points and rides you shared with other people remain for the group, **without your name**: they are part of other people’s plans.
- Access logs (date, time and IP) for 6 months, as required by Brazil’s Internet Act (Marco Civil, art. 15). They are deleted afterwards.
